These strategies contribute to the sustainable development of the fish trade sector (including the economic, social and environmental aspects) and, at the same time, contribute to improving food and nutrition security and strengthening livelihood opportunities and are directly linked to SO4. The publication contains a detailed quarterly update on market trends for a variety of major commodities. Combining the price information collected for the European Price Report with other market survey data collected by FAO GLOBEFISH, the report provides a detailed update on market trends for a variety of major commodities. Key market data is presented in a time series tabular or graphical form with a written analysis of trends and key events and news affecting commodities such as tuna, groundfish, small pelagics, shrimp, salmon, fishmeal and fish oil, cephalopods, bivalves and crustacea.

Review Of The Techno Economic Performance Of The Main Global Fishing Fleets

by Van Anrooy, R., Carvalho, N., Kitts, A., Mukherjee, R., Van Eijs, S., Japp, D., Ndao, S., release date 2021-06-11, Review Of The Techno Economic Performance Of The Main Global Fishing Fleets Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Review Of The Techno Economic Performance Of The Main Global Fishing Fleets books, This review of the techno-economic performance of the main global fishing fleets discusses the outcomes from 20 country-level studies of fishing fleets from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America. It includes financial, socio-economic and technical information from 103 major (semi-) industrial fishing fleet segments, which are responsible for an estimated 39 percent of marine capture fisheries production worldwide. The analysis of vessel characteristics reveals substantial differences in fishing capacity (in terms of vessel length, tonnage and power) between fleet segments. An increase in the gross tonnage of average vessels was observed in fleet segments also covered in previous reviews. Substantial increases in average length overall and engine power were observed in several Asian fishing fleets. The age structure of the fishing fleets in most regions, except Asia, shows an upward trend. An analysis of the costs and earnings data showed that labour and running costs were the two main cost components for the majority of fleet segments. Ninety-two percent of 97 fleet segments reported a positive net cash flow in the year they were surveyed, in the 2016–2019 period. Net profit margins of 10 percent or more were realized by average fishing vessels in 73 percent of the fleet segments. Returns on investment (ROIs) of 10 percent or higher were realized by 61 percent of the fleet segments. The review also discusses developments in fishing technologies. These developments, along with a general increase in seafood prices, successful fisheries management in some areas, and improved fleet capacity management in Europe and North America, have all contributed to the ongoing, positive financial and economic performance of the main global fishing fleets in recent years.

Download Oceanography And Marine Biology An Annual Review Volume 59 books, Oceanography and Marine Biology: An Annual Review remains one of the most cited sources in marine science and oceanography. The ever-increasing interest in work in oceanography and marine biology and its relevance to global environmental issues, especially global climate change and its impacts, creates a demand for authoritative refereed reviews summarizing and synthesizing the results of recent research. If you are interested in submitting a review for consideration for publication in OMBAR, please email the Editor in Chief, Stephen Hawkins, at [email protected] For nearly 60 years, OMBAR has been an essential reference for research workers and students in all fields of marine science. This volume considers such diverse topics as the Great Barrier Reef Expedition of 1928-29, Mediterranean marine caves, macromedusae in eastern boundary currents, marine biodiversity in Korea, and development of a geo-ecological carbonate reef system model to predict responses of reefs to climate change. Seven of the peer-reviewed contributions in Volume 59 are available to read Open Access on this webpage (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9). An international Editorial Board ensures global relevance and expert peer review, with editors from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Geographisch Denken Und Wissenschaftlich Arbeiten

by Axel Borsdorf, release date 2019-04-17, Geographisch Denken Und Wissenschaftlich Arbeiten Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format.
